My work is a personal response to different landscapes. I create hand-built ceramic vessels and wall panels from my garden studio in Birmingham, UK. Working from sketches the ceramic forms evolve through various techniques of slab building, pinching, pressing, and carving. Layers of slips and glazes create rich varied textures and contrasting surfaces. I hope to give a sense of place with my work but also leave it open to the viewers own interpretation so that they can draw on their own experience and create their own meaning.
